Abstract
This paper describes the BER performance in an optical link of the millimeterwave over fiber(MMoF) focused on the effect of a rising time of an input pulse due to the nonlinear effect of the optical fiber. The variations of the eye pattern, decision point, and timing jitter according to the rising time of an input pulse are investigated for the data rate over 10Gbps. Furthermore, this paper suggests the more practical and tighter BER estimation than the typical second moment BER estimation.
